it's more than just selling t-shirts.

Oh, friends.  My heart was overwhelmed before the t-shirt sales began...I wondered "will anyone want one? will anyone like the design?  are we asking too much?  people have plenty of other things to spend money on..."

My faith feels so small sometimes (and I wonder if it really takes faith to sell shirts...but then again, I feel like God gave the idea/prompted us to do it....obedience takes faith sometimes (always?!)...we seek to trust Him and we seek to obey Him....obsequium fidei.)

Now my heart is overwhelmed by the generosity that has been flowing through our phones, our instagram accounts, our facebook, our email....From God through all of you.  Wow.  You amaze me.  God amazes me through you.

We aren't really anywhere near the goal I had in mind for the number of shirts to sell...(but as the wise katie said "just give it time"....)(to be fair, we're about 1/3 of the way to the total of shirts) but we have been given an abundance of encouraging words and prayers and out-of-nowhere-donations...and we're closer than ever to having all we need financially for Zoe's adoption.  God's absolutely reminding me that it's about so much more than just selling t-shirts.

We read these verses at community group Thursday night - and they struck me as very applicable to this adoption...wanted to share them here....
Romans 4:4-5 MSG "if you see that the job is too big for you, that it’s something only God can do, and you trust him to do it—you could never do it for yourself no matter how hard and long you worked—well, that trusting-him-to-do-it is what gets you set right with God, by God. Sheer gift.
This job of adopting is too big for us...it's absolutely something only God can do.  We trust Him to do it.  And what's amazing is that as we trust Him to do it, it's setting us right with Him.  (the NIV says "their faith is credited as righteousness" for that last part).  God is so good...what we can't do, He does for us...and then He gives us righteous credit for it...it's like a teacher who knows you don't know the answers to the tests, gives you the answers to the test and then gives YOU a good grade for it!  Not sure if that analogy is perfectly accurate...the bottom line is that we're getting something we don't deserve.  It's quite fitting that her middle name is Grace.
Fun Facts (and a prayer request):

  • The blue shirts are far outselling the red ones - almost 2:1.  Shocking.
  • We have a tie for most popular size -- Adult Medium and Adult XL
  • T-shirts can be ordered until August 5!! (next Sunday)
  • Apparently "ZoeGrace" is a twin-sister gospel duo from England!
  • We go Wednesday to Birmingham to sign lots of papers that will put Zoe Grace legally in our custody (followed by a court date at some point that will finalize everything).  Please pray however the Spirit leads for this time on Wednesday and for this process.  We'll let you know how it goes.
Surely there will be more to come.

24 July 2018

drumroll please...t-shirts are ready for ordering!

After many (many) emails exchanged between me and a wonderfully helpful lady named Courtney at an incredible company called Fund the Nations (we're big fans of their mission and method!), here is the t-shirt that we're hoping God is going to use to provide for some of our adoption costs.

A fabulous unicorn loving friend very kindly suggested that some folks might not appreciate the nod towards Georgia Football with the red color scheme (though that's not what we had in mind when the shirt was coming together!!  but it's very true that we like our Georgia Bulldogs!) ...so in an effort to please all of you who happen not to be fans of our favorite team, here's a blue option.  (and it's ok if you just prefer blue...we won't assume anything about your affinity to any particular team).

Read all the way to the bottom for a chance to get a free t-shirt. (how's that for marketing?!)

Things to know:
  • Each shirt costs $22 (some sizes cost more than others - sizes range from youth small to adult 3XL...but for simplicity's sake, we're selling them for $22 each)
  • You are absolutely welcome to add an additional donation on top of the cost of the shirt - but please know that buying a shirt is enough!!  (or if you don't want a shirt, the gift of a donation would be so very generous! you can use the paypal link below)
  • If we are going to ship it to you (which we'd be happy to do!), adding $3 in the US and $10 for international addresses to your total will greatly help us out!
To order: (I think this may be the most important part of the whole post...)("if you don't hear anything else today, hear this...")
  • email me at diannacash@yahoo.com or message me (on facebook, instagram or at 706/577-4393) and tell me
    • red or blue print
    • size
    • how you plan to pay
    • your email address
To pay:
  • You can give us the money in person (just make sure I have your order and don't just take your money!)(you can even ask if I've got it written down somewhere!)
  • You may send a check/money order to our home address (I think money orders are fancy!  so if you want to be fancy, get that money order!) - 10311 Whitesville Road  Fortson, GA 31808
  • You may also pay through this link: paypal.me/cashfamilyadoption
More things to know:
  • You are amazing for even considering buying a shirt and supporting our family in this way.
  • We will take orders until August 5.  Once all of our orders are in, it will take a couple of weeks for the shirts to arrive and we will do our best to deliver/ship them as quickly as possible.
  • If there is enough interest, we can place a second order - but that is not a certainty.   Don't delay.  Buy today....or something like that.  :)
  • The t-shirt company told us that "...soft shirts are a tad less generous of a fit than a normal t-shirt. They’re a nicer, softer t-shirt, but if people are between two sizes I would definitely suggest choosing the larger!"
You mentioned free shirts at the beginning of this post.  Yes, yes, I did.

Alright, you must be quite dedicated to us if you are still reading this (thank you)...much like restaurants and stores often have a rewards program for their most loyal customers, we'd like to offer a reward to any of you willing to partner with us in these t-shirt sales.  If you can sell 10 or more shirts, we'd love to give you your shirt for free...and by sell I mean, contact your people (in person, on facebook, however), get their information/sizes/etc. and money (unless they pay with paypal), get that information/money to me and then be willing to deliver their shirts once the order is in (I'll get their shirts to you!).  I had this idea in the middle of the night...I felt like it might be a good one...but if it's terrible, just ignore it.   If you're interested in doing this, email or message me!  (I'm hoping for about 10 folks willing to do this!! Aunt Amy...here's looking at you!)

Another idea I just had that I'm going to run with - my hope is that we sell at least 75 of each shirt (that number allows us to get the lowest possible price and the monetary goal we are hoping to reach was calculated using that price).  As an act of worship, Nick and I would like to give red print t-shirt #76 and blue print t-shirt #76 away for free.

Why sell these shirts?  Why ask you to buy a shirt?
Because of this amazingly precious and beautiful little girl named Zoe Grace that God has trusted us with.  Because we need your prayers and we hope your shirt will be a reminder to pray for Zoe and the rest of the Cash family and to also pray for her birthmom, Melinda.  Because we hope your shirt will spark questions and inspire conversations.  Because we hope it will be a useful tool in God's kingdom..and maybe even lead others to adopt (I'm asking alot of these t-shirts!  I do believe they are up to the challenge.)

And because t-shirts are always a good idea.

May this little girl lying on the blanket her birth mother made with love, care and attention always know that she is treasured, wanted, cared for, and loved.

Full disclosure.  This feels overwhelming.  The thought of handling 150 t-shirt orders makes me tremble a bit...but we're excited about these shirts and excited about having others on this journey with us.  So the emails and orders and payments and arrangements will all be worth it.  We welcome your prayers for a peaceful and smooth process!

Surely there will be more to come.
